Easter Sunday Arrangement

Posted by Traveler on 03-05-2008 23:40:37 CST
The Belmont Singers will be presenting the musical arrangement, The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference in the morning worship service on Easter Sunday (March 23rd at 10:45 am). Our pastor will preach following the twenty minute program. We will have no evening activities so that you may spend time with your families.

The choir is currently practicing at 5:15 pm on Sunday Evenings to prepare. If you are interested in singing with the choir, drop by the sanctuary at that time.

Created by Johnathan Crumpton and Sue C. Smith, The Old Rugged Cross Made the Difference is a 20-minute musical arrangement which approaches Resurrection Morning with "moving arrangements of top Easter hymns*".

Notes From Rowland - March 2008

The choir has been conspicuously absent because of sickness during the past few weeks. Coughing and sneezing is not good for those who stand before the congregation. But, that is about to change. Since our Bible Study attendance has been up, the choir will be presenting specials regularly soon.

Recently, I came across several scriptures that have impressed me. I would like to share them with you. I call them Pearls from Proverbs.

Proverbs 14:9 - Fools mock at sin; but among the upright, there is good will.
-- Laughing at the things some comedians say, the things drunk people do, the adulterous scenes in movies, etc is so very wrong. It pushes righteous thoughts from the mind.

Proverbs 9: 8-9 - Rebuke a wise man and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man and he will be wiser still.
Proverbs 10:20 - The lips of the righteous feed many.
Proverbs 25:11 - Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances.
-- Don't belittle people or point out their faults. Try encouraging others with positive words.

Proverbs 18:24 - A man who has friends must himself be friendly.
Proverbs 11:9 - The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

-- Love ya, Rowland
