Recently, the Personnel Committee recommended that we consider a candidate as our new Youth Minister. As a result, Jeff was asked to speak to the congregation on Sunday, March 2nd.

During the morning worship service, Jeff was asked to share his plans for the Belmont Youth and to share his testimony.

Afterward, a lunch was served in Fellowship hall.

That evening, after the evening worship activities, a short business meeting was held. By unanimous decision, those present voted to call Jeff for service as the new Youth Minister.

Jeff is a student at HSU and has previously served as Associate Youth Minister at First Baptist Church in Kerens, Texas.

He was responsible for leading the Junior High Bible Studies on Wednesday nights. He also assisted the Youth Pastor with planning special events, Disciple Now weekends, game days, etc.

He has also served as a camp counselor at seven youth/preteen camps. And he worked as an after school child care provider at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Child Development Center in Abilene from September 2006 to August 2007.

Our goal for this group is to provide strength and a Christian influence in these young lives. An influence that only comes from our God.

Our hope is that, in love they learn to trust and believe in us and each other; and they can form strong friendships and bonds that they will remember as adults.

Our prayer is that when they leave this group that they will know that God has enriched their lives for being a part of it.

God is our Foundation, and our strength, and we just want to share His love with our youth.
